i have a spare 81 z28 teardrop style hood laying around and also a stock thirdgen rs flat hood....im trying to organize some parts get rid of some while also putting some to good use...so i cameup with the idea of it just looks like i just have to drill holes from the 3rd gen hood and bolt up the 2nd gen scoop....id also like to try this with a 97 z28 style scoop if i ever come across one of those again...anyones thoughts on this idea? ill get some pix up when i finish it

I don't particularly care for the idea, but to each his own. Talking about just cutting the scoop out, and then bolting it on sounds, well... Ghetto. No offense man, just my opinion. I'd feel a lot better if it was attached differently

 

it doesnt require cutting at all...it unbolts and all id have to do is bolt it back into a flat third gen hood....i was asking for permission to do it lol i was asking what people would think of it

 

It will make it look as though you wanted a 70's camaro....

 

stuff like this happens when i get many extra parts laying around from parts cars...thats why my iroc has 2005 gto leather buckets and a 98 manual console...

 

 

 

Looks really out of place like a tack-on hoodscoop. The lines don't match at all, and the contours of the hood and the scoop itself are radically different. I wouldn't do it, but that's just me.

 

i just wanted to try it for kicks today the scoop wasnt actually bolted down in pix it was just for a visual idea.....im deciding to sell the 81 z28 hood complete because its rust/fent free and i would get more for it with the scoop on it obviously
