Good afternoon thirdgeners!

Today I was able to do a little modding to my headlights. I went to the salvage yard and got some headlights off of an late 90's Olds. Can't recall the exact model, but I found a perfect set for a swap of the stock 4x6's. I have not been able to get the brights to work yet, will have to require some wiring.I did swap the high and low beam selection to make it a little more unique. Here's a few pics, let me know what you think! I will post pics with them on when it get's dark this evening.

 

Shoot. Just realized that I put them on the wrong sides according to the third picture. Eh, guess we all have brainfarts at some point.

 

Here's some photos while lit. Didn't have a chance to take a before and after photo comparing them to stock but it is quite a bit of a difference!

 

Looks real good. I looked into a set of Monty LS Euro lights before I deceded to go with 6k aftermarket ones im running

 

I have a couple pairs of Celebrity lights left over from when I converted my mid '80s Sunbird to have this same modification.

If anyone is interested in them, let me know.

 

they the same hoyusings he used , they look pretty damn good , ive been wanting to do an hid conversion on my car but kind of iffy about the ebay housings + hid lights


to the op how easy did thouse housings mount up, are the solid or do they wobble around a lil bit

 

Good job it looks factory! Has anyone tried aftermarket type lights? Rather then the stock style? It will give the lights a look like the year one bandit car



I doubt there is much of anything aftermarket for most of those early 90s GM econoboxes. But there is plenty for 88-98 GM trucks. Depending on specs of coarse.

They fit pretty well. Had to drill some holes in the camaro housing to be able to mount them temporarily with cable ties, and they are pretty snug in the mounts. Gonna be a lot easier changing bulbs.

 

Can also switch back to stock anytime! Very simple ans easy. Hardest part was pulling them off the donor.

 

what bulbs do they take , wanna price up some hid conversion kits

 

I am not sure off the top of my head, they are sylvanias though. I can double check when I have a chance.

 

Looks like a early 90's cutlass head light ..... Early 90's cadillac devills had the same design too

Yup pretty sure it was a 92-94 cutlass.

 

If I'm not mistaken the C/K headlights are actually slightly smaller. what you have seem to fit pretty dang good. I like it a lot.

 

Thanks man! It took an hour of walking through pull a part with a tape measure to fine some that were close. I also tried some off of an early 2000 astro van that would've looked great if they were about a half inch wider.

 

one of the things i like about my camaro is that it doesn't have the newer plastic lenses that have to be maintained.

 

my intrepid has the plastic lenses which would dull in 2-3 months and turn yellow, i solved the problem pretty easy , i wet sanded them with 600,then 1000, then 1,500, then finally 2000 grit wet paper , after that i used my lil buffer i use for waxing and buffed them with some swirl remover, after that i just washed them off and sprayed them with some krylon clear coat spray paint.

havent had to touch them for over a year anda half now and still look just as good as when i did them
