Anyone use a front air splitter?
I plan on making a detachable front air splitter for my car. I was wondering how many third gen owners utilize these for racing. If you can, show pics!

That's awesome, thanks for the picture! I also plan on added a rear air diffuser as well to better direct airflow leaving the car.

Raver, do you have an underbody CAD drawing of a third gen? Ive been contemplating CNCing some panels to smooth the body. A drawing to start with would help.

Probably a dumb question but wouldn't covering the underside of the engine block the airflow that helps cool the oil pan?

Keep in mind that thirdgens get air from underneath to cool the rad.

Made this up for the Firebird, works for street and track use but is 4" off the road. A true splitter is 1.5 - 2" off the road, wraps around the nose of the car, and still needs to find a way to feed cooling air to the rad. Much more involved, and as you say needs to be detachable for trailering and for street use. Ideally would incorporate a belly pan and brake cooling ducts, and has to be strong enough to stand on.
Do a search, there are a few threads on TGO, and on frrax.com.

Re: Anyone use a front air splitter?
It's a diffuser not a splitter but I wasn't sure if you wanted that specific
