Re: Lowering engine
Thinner air filter or another intake honestly. You dont want to mess with the motor trans alignment.

Re: Lowering engine
Just look at the distance between the oil pan and the k-member. I doubt you will be able to go down an inch unless you hack up your k-member and like mentioned above you will then change the angle of your drive line.

Re: Lowering engine
I lowered my motor in my car but I have a motor plate not factory mounts. I recommend a modified air cleaner.

Re: Lowering engine
You would need to use a custom made solid motor mount since I do t believe there is enough room to use a two piece mount like factory.
Get a different air cleaner or a raises/cowl hood. Lowering the engine will create clearance issues with the oil pan and exhaust, also the oil pan may sit lower then the subframe and thats not a good idea.

Re: Lowering engine
get a drop base air cleaner. you can easily lower the filter an inch or more.

Re: Lowering engine
I'm using a performer rpm intake with a 3/4" adapter to my qjet and a drop base air cleaner with a 2" filter in my 84 and it fits

Re: Lowering engine
Same here. Front and rear motor plates with no side mounts. Mine is lowered and pushed back as far as it would go between the frame rails but you'll be much better of getting a drop base air cleaner or investing in a low cowl hood.

Re: Lowering engine
Ed quay makes a lower side mounts, there is also a guy on racing junk that sells up to 3 inch drop air cleaner. I bought one and it is a great piece
