Help wiring 220v 1phase reversing switch
I have a 220v reversible motor and need help wiring it to a fwd/reverse switch. The motor can be wired to run in reverse.

A typical single phase motor can be reversed by switching leads 5 and 8. This can be done with a simple "4 way" toggle switch.

They are not, but you didn't mention the size of the motor earlier
That motor should draw in the neighborhood of 17amps. In a pinch a 20amp 4 way would work for most applications albeit borderline on the amperage rating.

Re: Help wiring 220v 1phase reversing switch
Is it assumed that T2 and T3 are already connected to T1 and T4?
Thanks for the help so far.
Once I get this wired up, I can start turning thirdgen parts on my lathe.

Re: Help wiring 220v 1phase reversing switch
I was stuck on using the other style of drum switch that is supposed to be for 1phase, but this looks like the 3phase version will suit my needs.

It switches T5 and T8. P1 connects to L1 in both directions. T4 is always connected to L2. T1 is always powerless.

It works. T5 and T8 need to be switched at the switch so that forward is forward and reverse is reverse, but it works. Need to line up the motor with the pulley tomorrow and we're in business.

Ran out of bandsaw blades today halfway through cutting some aluminum stock for gauge bezels. Did get a 1LE disc brake rotor turned into a hub though.
