Gauging Interest - 3D Printed Parts

I've made a couple discontinued parts out of ABS for my GTA as I'm rebuilding it, looking to gauge interest in selling them. I made a replacement for GM #20216825 (Window Up Stop) and #20096585 (Window Retainer) - see photos of them installed on my driver's door glass, and the 3D models. I couldn't find these available anywhere anymore, so opted to make up replacements. They fit and function, but I plan to test them out in my car for a little bit to ensure I'm happy with them. Anyone interested if I end up trying to sell?

I'd be interested in some as spares.

Same as DynoDave; I don't need any at the moment, but mine are original and it would probably be smart to get a set of spares for when I rebuild the doors.

Re: Gauging Interest - 3D Printed Parts

Old thread, I know. But, mentioning 3D printing: what I would like to see is some kind of seat belt bracket that bolts to the seat back at the same attachment point as stock, but drops the seat belt itself down a couple of inches. As it is, the shoulder portion of the seat belt rides the side of my neck. I'm 5'10", so I imagine people who are shorter have even a worse time with it.

Re: Gauging Interest - 3D Printed Parts

I'd be happy to give it a shot. All I've got is the fancy-style seat belt guide on my GTA seats, which is mounted behind a cap that adjusts the headrest forwards and backwards. Any way you could get me measurements off of yours? I'm guessing they're this style: https://www.hawksmotorsports.com/82-...-reproduction/ Diameter of the holes for the bolts, center-to-center of the holes, and overall length/width would be great. Feel free to PM to discuss.

Re: Gauging Interest - 3D Printed Parts

I have few 3D printed designs as well for 3rdgens, could we possibly get a new forum for this? maybe a simple rule that you MUST post the design for free for download, but you CAN charge if someone doesn't want to bother and wants to just order it?

Re: Gauging Interest - 3D Printed Parts

@Gibby10 Thank you for the kind words! If you have any issues or need anything, let me know, I'd be happy to help.

@EaTeR_TA Not a bad idea. In the mean time if there's an STL of anything you're looking for, feel free to PM. Since I spent a lot of time reverse engineering these items and testing them on my own car, I'm not putting my work up on something like Thingiverse, but I am happy to share among the board and keep thirdgens in functional replacement parts.

Re: Gauging Interest - 3D Printed Parts

I would be interested in a set as well, to put back for when I need to rebuild/replace my regulators & associated hardware. Are you still making/selling these?

So, maybe an @admin@chadp.net can email him and maybe he'll get it.
it would be nice if he gives up the file so these can be made by anyone.

Re: Gauging Interest - 3D Printed Parts

Yea I am assuming that. I ended up using JB Weld to glue back together with a small metal backing. Seems strong for now. If he responds then I’ll buy a few. That idea about listing 3D files is a good idea.

Re: Gauging Interest - 3D Printed Parts

For those of you still looking for these parts, I'm making a similar 3d print. They are my own design and you can find them for sale on ebay https://www.ebay.com/itm/187433713430
