WTB 3rd Gen 350 Vert <50k mi NO Red or Blk
That's right, I am looking for a 3rd Gen 350 with less than 50k documented miles.
Prefer Formula but will look at GTA or TA. Prefer Silver, White or Green. NO Red or Black.
Must be all original with a few exceptions (tires, exhaust, brakes, etc).
Must have all original documentation (window sticker, bill of sale, service records, etc).
No projects, no rust, no dings. This must be close to show with little work.
Within 300 miles to Albany NY.

Thanks, tom.

No such animal - from the factory, at least.
You'll have to be happy with a 305, unless you buy a 4th gen vert.

OKFOZ has one of the factory Formula 350 verts. Very low numbers. I think maybe 2 if I recall.

Sorry but with all those specifications you're really going to limit yourself a lot.
I'd bet a hundred bucks you won't find a REAL L98 T/A convertible anywhere near within 300 miles from you. If you DO by any chance find one though, be prepared to spend a fortune on it. Good luck nonetheless

Pontiac didn't bring back a "factory" convertable until 1991 (even though ASC was still doing them), from what I can find online - and nothing mentioning a 350. GM killed the T-top / 350 combo, so I can't imaging them offer it in a vert.

Madmax found one, a white 1989 GTA 350 convertible, but it took 10 years of searching and he had to go to Texas to get it.

Hey guys, thanks for the feedback. About 2 years ago, I stumbled onto a 3rd Gen Formula 350 convertible that was a special for a GM exec with all factory paperwork, etc. It had very low miles (less than 25k) and looked like a museum time piece. I don't know what I was thinking, I could have had the car for $5300, but I got into a spat with the owner via e-mail. Car was on Ebay and never made reserve twice. I offered him almost twice what the car eventually sold for, but he refused and let the auction run out. Then the third time he relisted, he dropped the reserve and the car sold for $5200. I was so mad that I refused to bid and lost the car. Plus I struggled because the car was red and I really did not want another red car. So now 2 years later I still regret not buying that 350 Formula Vert.
I am starting to open up my window of opportunity and entertain buying a Trans Am or Formula 305 convertible, but it will have to be pretty special and hopefully not red or black.
If you hear of or see anything, please let me know. Find me at tsmith24@earthlink.net
Thanks,
Tom.
