Looking for a 91-92 v6 Firebird

I used to own a 1992 V6 Firebird in high school and now that I need a gas saver, I want another! If anyone sees one in the $1000 price range let me know. Preferably in TX but if the price is right, I could travel and make an adventure out of it!!!

Re: Looking for a 91-92 v6 Firebird

let me ask you a question..what kind if MPG are you getting in your TPI now? I see the guys in the TPI forum bashing V6's by saying "my 350 TPI gets 25MPG, so why would I want a v6???"

I have to admit, if that's true, they have a point.

Re: Looking for a 91-92 v6 Firebird

1) My bird is a 350 TPI and last time I clocked it I was getting somewhere between 19-21MPG.
2) I really don't wanna drive the bird or the Camaro, they are hobby cars to me.
3) My job is about 50mi one way, that's to much risk of an accident for those cars.
4) Its an excuse to get another car ;-)

Re: Looking for a 91-92 v6 Firebird

I've heard of v6 cars getting no better than 20, though mine gets 24ish...

but yes, I totally understand your points. if you can use and abuse a $1000 car on a long commute, that's 100 miles a day you aren't putting on your baby (babies)

I Drive to my Dad's house in arlington 3 times a week... I take my beat up old sunfire for that trip. the camaro has better things to do than be driven through the Dallas mixmaster at rush hour.

Another reason I want the v6 bird is because 3rd gens are all I've worked on. So I'd like to keep it that way!

Re: Looking for a 91-92 v6 Firebird

you don't have to convince me, I think it's a great idea. if I see one for sale up here, I'll send you a note.

you might want to set up a search on craigslists statewide for firebird V6, and check it every day

do you have an android phone? there's a android app that will do that constant search and notify you when new cars come up

one shouldn't be too hard to find. I had to search hard for mine, but I wanted a 87-89 camaro, V6, 5 speed, manual windows and locks. I was picky

craigsnotifica

android only, but it's great!

the coolest thing is you can set up one search to set up dozens of regions.. just pick and choose which ones are close enough to you to make it worth your while
