Re: GP HAWKS 2" LSX Conversion Stainless Headers
Why would folks prefer the 1 3/4 to the 2", or vice versa? Are there clearance issues or advantages to one over the other, besides more flow out of the 2"?

Re: GP HAWKS 2" LSX Conversion Stainless Headers
^ Just because it is a little bit cheaper to finish my swap, I will probably end up going with the 2" hawks though. The 2" hawks only fit automatics.
Re: GP HAWKS 2" LSX Conversion Stainless Headers
Hi,
The 2in headers are the best header on the market for the ls swap. THEY WILL FIT AUTO AND MANUAL we have had a few customers fit with th400 as well. Is there any interest in the 1 5/8 lt headers they may come up in the near future on a GP.
Thanks,Bruce

ya i have decided i want the 1 3/4 instead of the 2". 2" is just way to big for my setup. please give us a deal on these headers. I know you guys can do it. Someone should call them.
Re: GP HAWKS 2" LSX Conversion Stainless Headers
I talked with Bruce on this for you guys, he said the best he can do is FREE SHIPPING on the 1-3/4" headers. Give me a call if anyone wants to place an order.
Thanks, Steven

Re: GP HAWKS 2" LSX Conversion Stainless Headers
ive got a set of 1 3/4 i bought from hawks a year or so ago to do the swap but havent got to it yet. it's for the stick shift. i would be interested in selling to someone so i can get the motor first. there is one motor locally i want to buy before it gets taken. plus i want to get hawks complete setup (the whole system) when i get there. PM me if interested.
Re: GP HAWKS 2" LSX Conversion Stainless Headers

Re: GP HAWKS 2" LSX Conversion Stainless Headers
Hawk's will have to clarify here. I told them I was interested in the 1-3/4" headers in which they responded they will ship them for free with complementary gaskets/bolts with a committed 5 buyers. Not sure if they will run that with the 2.0" or not?

Yeah I saw that, just making sure either applies. I'll reply in your other thread to confirm.
Saving the $40 for bolts + s/h is probably worth it I suppose.

Re: GP HAWKS 2" LSX Conversion Stainless Headers
After some deliberation, I have decided on the 2". I am in for the group buy.
The LS1 I am building is far from stock, with higher compression, big cam, LS6 heads, fabbed intake and with the intentions to spin her up, as well as a shot of NOS, 1 3/4" are starting to sound pretty small.... With the flow capabilities of the gen III heads, I don't think a guy can look at this the same way as the older SBCs.
Those with an LSX 376 and D1SC might want to My fhink about this too...
Future modifications will definetly only be seeing the cylinder bores getting bigger, so I am buying in now.
Hawks -
I would like to connect the headers to my existing Mufflex 3" Y into 4" system. Are the collector locations anywhere near where the Hooker 2210s ended up with my previous SBC setup?
Any chance of setting us up with some slip fit connectors and adapter pipes to tie these together as part of the purchase?

Re: GP HAWKS 2" LSX Conversion Stainless Headers
I'm in, I was hoping for a group purchase or holiday discount for these headers. I'm in the same situation as HP52TA, I need some slip fit connectors. I have a custom dual 3in exhaust system that was used on my old 383SBC with 2210's that I need to modify to fit with these headers.

I hope a similar deal comes through again for these by summer. Didn't make this one with the holidays and organizing the radiator GP.

Re: GP HAWKS 2" LSX Conversion Stainless Headers
You looking to get the 1-5/8", 1-3/4", or the 2" headers?
I've got a stock LS1/4L60e in my garage that will be transplanted into a '88 V6 Firebird. I'm thinking "some" street, but mostly a track car with heads/cam/nitrous.
I understand the 2" will flow great, but not sure if they are necessary. Thoughts?
Re: GP HAWKS 2" LSX Conversion Stainless Headers
I'm really not sure at this point which is the most ideal. This is for a car that I won't start on until summertime and I haven't picked a goal yet.

Re: GP HAWKS 2" LSX Conversion Stainless Headers
The 2" headers are over kil unless doing a 400+ cube motor.
I've heard nothing but good things about them and always get great service from Hawks, whether ordering parts, or just calling for advice.

I know this is old, but I'd be very interested in the 1-5/8" headers. We're putting together a LS* engine in our Firebird.

Oops. I reviewed the recommendations from my builder, and I'll need 1-3/4", not the 1-5/8". It's a 5.0L engine. Thanks.
