Silver IROC interior panels... rare stock option or BS?

There's a thread on the interior forum https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...hreadid=100615 that caught my interest and before I make *too* much of a fool of myself, I figured I'd post the question here. Anybody else have any evidence of the existance of a factory option for the silver interior trim?

Looks like that guy saw my 85 sport coupe parked somewhere. All I did was a DutchBoy Special. Painted it just like that. The Factory should have sone that. It looks cool

I saw an 86 Camaro, I want to say it was a Z28, in about 1993 that had silver dash panels... It looked pretty sharp, but I don't know that it was a stock option, and I've never seen anything to show its stock. But then again some firebirds had colored dash panels where most got black... soo.... who knows.

I had those on my '85. The dealer had them installed by some local outfit. They are not GM pieces or ordinary dealer installed options. There are probably a number of "companies" that make the overlays (wood grain, too). You just stick 'em on. In my case, the dealer thought they were cool, could make some money off 'em, so he stuck 'em on some cars. It wasn't long before they started coming loose, so I pulled 'em off. I prefer the factory black look, anyway.

Notice that the two sets pictured in this thread are different. That alone tells me that one or both aren't OEM.

Look at the HVAC/radio frame, and the turn signal indicators. They're different.

Oh i see, nothing different about the radio trim, accidentlly broke it when i was putting in an aftermarket stereo.
But i do see the out line of the blinker arrow on mine? hmmm
Maybe different year? did all irocs( 85-90 ) come with the turn signal blinker arrow outlined?

Could be possible aftermarket,
Thanks Drew

BTW Any info on the RPO codes
