Rare Option??

In the back of my car 92 z28 there is a strap that is there to hold T-tops(?) and I was told that this is rare, but the guy I heard it from might be a complete goofball, so I'm not sure.. if you have it or know 50 thousand people that do let me know.. or if it really is rare.. THANKS!!

What do you mean by a "strap"? Can you post a pic?

This is what it should look like:

here's the upper latch(above the gas tank).
oops
Forgot I took the hook off--but where the holes are is where the latch belongs--again-it's mounted on a piece of metal.

No, niether of you have what I do...I know a guy with an 86 t/a that has the same setup as 92GTA's... and Tonyrodz's isnt the same as mine either... the first strap is removable and attaches to the vertical wall facing the back of the car, the other two attach on the verticle walls facing each other.. the strap is thus in a T-form... I dont know of any other way to describe it.. I dont have a scanner or digital cam to get a pic either, sorry, thanks for trying though. I love your GTA too, 92GTA, real real sharp car!!

that almost sounds like the strap that was used to hold a flat tire in a notchback. I saw a pic of one once. The flat was put on one of the rear seats(was folded down)and strapped down so it would stay put.-possible? Kind of shaped like a wide "Y". Am I making sense?

Well, it faces the back though, not on the back of the rear seat, it would never be able to stretch that far... and it is kinda shaped like a "Y"... but hmm.. ya dont think the lady that had it before me but in an old tire holder in order to hold down the T-Tops do ya?? I'm beginning to question the stockness of the T-tops if she did that though.........hmmmmmmm.... let me know any other thoughts PLEASE!! I'd like to get this little mystery solved!!! I really wish I could get ya a pic! Sorry I Cant!!

That sounds just like the straps that are part of the aftermarket Cars & Concepts t-tops. They didn't use a bag like the factory tops. I have them in my '88 IROC, but since I'm using a factory bag I'm going to remove them once I install the factory bag hooks.
