Only 2600 miles! However from the pics raptoryfm660r's looks cleaner. Buy it now for 15k.

WOW!
WOW!, why don't I have all the $ in the world, That would be a fun car to pick up!!!!
Only 72 miles lower and its a 1987 model.
The car looks pretty good but I would have to see underneath before I make a judgment.
Outside it looks as good as mine. I think I like the design of the 1986 interior better and it looks naked without the thirdbrake light sticking out up on top.
I would have liked to have had a manuel transmission but we thought my wife was going to be driving our car so I hunted for the automatic, but it just didn't happen, she hardly ever drove it.
So, it just don't matter anymore. I am keeping my stored for some future car show.
I am going to get a thirdgen driver or an late 80's Vette for something neat to drive.

The lined and accented 87 custom interior is nice, and comfortable. The brake light is in the spoiler, it was put there because no1 liked the design a year earlier and every1 thought it was definetly nicer there and not on the hatch glass and all noticable. That car is a 305, if it was a 350 it would be great. Thats a show quality car though and should be bought by some1 thats gonna treat it that way.
It's amazing how many IROC's were stored away. There's my old '85, which had 2,500 miles on it when I sold it, there's Chet's '86, which has a few more miles than the one I had, but looks so much better without the undercoating mine had. Of course you can't forget Scott Moyer's gorgeous '87. Then there's the $30,000 one that was posted here a few days ago, and now this one. Counting the couple that I saw on eBay back when I first bought my '85, that makes seven that I know of. I wonder how many more Chets there are out there who have an ultra-low mile IROC in the garage but haven't found this board yet.
When I get rich, I think I'll buy 'em all up and start an IROC-Z museum.

Ok, so he's asking $15k for an 87. Help me break this down for my insurance. I have the 350 (worth more), auto (worth more), leather interior (worth more), Bose stereo (worthless in my opinion but worth more because it was an upgrade), Custom interior (worth more and noticeable that he doesn't have it by his seats), I can only hope that he also has the 3.08 gears where I have the 3.27 BW setup, but I can't tell.... I did turn 9k miles this year already, so that could be a downside, but I think an appraiser would consider anything less than 10k miles to be equal value. If he sells for $15k, what could that show the value of my car as? This will be a good auction to watch.
Also, my car is perfectly operational now. A car with 2600 miles WILL need new tires as the originals are probably hard or dry-rotting, seals are probably dry and cracking and who knows what else. The hardest thing on a car is not a teenager, but the guys that can afford to buy them and not drive them - no offense Chet.
When I bought my car, there was a black with red interior 89 IROC on the ohio/pennsylvania border with 2200 miles on it. I almost bought the car until the seller decided to give it to his son! and then there was a black one on Ebay 2 years ago for $17500 that was identical to mine with 789 miles on it. The owner replaced the tires, fuel pump and tank, battery, relays and a few other items due to the car sitting. So there's a few more low mileaged ones. In Maple Grove Minnesota, there is a red 85 IROC with 5k miles on it. The guy is selling for $13900 because he just bought a Buick GNX!!

Scott, I know what logic and common sense tells us about what happens to a car that just sits, but when I bought my '85 IROC, it had 2,138 miles on it and it had none of the problems one might expect. The tires had absolutely no cracking, and while they may have been harder than when they were new, it would be hard to tell without putting a new tire right next to them. (I did have an extra set of wheels and new tires just to be safe) The rear main seal leaked at a rate of three drops per month, and that's a leak I can live with. The biggest problem I encountered with the way it ran when I first got it was a distributor cap that had corroded terminals.
I know we have all heard that time is a cars worst enemy, but I'd have to say this car was an exception to the rule. I often wonder if by the eighties, materials had improved to a point where their shelf life was much longer than previously expected.
Of course I'm basing my experience on this one car, so maybe I'm way off base...but then again I haven't seen any puddles of oil in any of the pictures that Chet has posted that show the underside of his IROC.

The rear main seal was leaking on mine also when I got it. I had to replace the EGR, egr temp sensor, Rear main seal, yoke, tires and a few corroded relays. I don't know where my car was stored, but it was in Minnesota which gets temperature extremes.

I emailed that seller and asked him for more pics. Hopefully he'll respond. I haven't had good luck with low mile IROC sellers sending me pics in the past. I've got a pile of Matt's pics (and a video
), a pile of Chet's pics, and when I get time, I'll have every pic on Scott's site.
In the coming weeks, I want to start a low-mile registry on the IROC Homepage. It seems like a good idea to start keeping track of these ultra low mile cars. What do you guys think? Good idea?

Hi guys,
I called the guy selling this car. He's a dealer selling it on behalf of someone else as part of an estate sale. He said the owner was wealthy and died about six months ago. He also said the owner would drive the car once every few weeks just to keep things exercised.

Yeah Jim, I haven't seen my car in your rides section yet! What's up with that? Everytime I go up there, I see "Scott's Red IROC" and I check it. Still isn't mine! J/K

Hey,
Haven't really tried to sell, but if I could sell mine; I'd buy this car. I want a manual shift really bad! I've got an 87 IROC-Z convertible with 33k miles, excellent condition. Anyone out there interested?

Chet,
A little embarrassing, but I have not figured out how to post a picture. I had a friend convert a .tif pic to a .gif (what ever that means), but I still can't attach it. Any tips? Believe the file/pic may be too big.
