Did all cars with the WS6 performance package receive the WS6 center caps?
I have a '91 T/A and noticed that the center caps are blank. It has the 16x8 crosslace wheels and the WS6 package.

 

Not sure if this helps or not but my 86 T/A has the WS6 and 16 inch wheels and also has blanks.I thought maybe something happened to them but maybe thats just how some of them came.

 

Those centers are easy to pop out or lose--so maybe someone lost their WS6 caps and replaced w/different ones and just popped out the centers. I have blanks on some GTA wheels that I bought too.

 

i had ws6 caps on my 1988 formula 350 wheels
and i have them on my 1991 formula 350 wheels..

 

My 89 GTA has firebird logos on the centercaps which may or may not be original....

 

my '86 had the logo caps, i exchanged them with the ws6's from my '79, now i want the huge red ws6 badge i saw on the back of a fourth gen.

 

my 84 S/E has WS6 and the center caps are golden eagles and they're originals.

 

What ever happened to your '84 S/E kizz? It says in your sig: "1984 Firebird S/E HO V6, LL1/WS6, 114k, sold 5/02, repo 9/02, kennedy"

 

My '87 GTA came stock with the caps with the bird in the middle. After loosing one on a pothole in '88 I replaced with the WS6 caps. They lock.

 

FYI--The older WS6 caps were lettered in gold and the newer type were lettered in silver.

 

There are a couple varieties... there's the normal black cap, which had several emblems... the silver bird, the gold bird, the yellow letter on black background WS6, the silver letters on black background WS6. Then there's the silver cap (not chrome) with the emblem with the silver background and black lettered WS6.
The chrome caps, red arrowhead emblems, etc are all second gen pieces. From what I've seen the Yellow WS6 emblems were used on the GTA's, the silver on later WS6 T/A's, the silver birds on just about everythign, and the gold birds on some GTA's, and other firebirds with gold trim.

 

So, are the blank caps original or am I supposed to have silver WS6 caps?

 

86 Grand Prix, came stock on those on certain wheels. Pretty sure from 83-87 they used those caps in particular, depending on the wheel you ordered of course.

 

hmm... grand prix's... sounds good to me..

if the cap has an indent with nothing on it, the emblem fell off. if it doesn't have an indent its likely an aftermarket cap.

 

I sold it to a guy who started out all trustworthy and nice and cordial, but very soon after that he stopped making payments, paying only when he felt like it and getting further behind every day. Finally I had enough and decided to take back the car. I picked it up outside his workplace but little did I know how he had destroyed it until I got really near it again. Interior destroyed, engine bay destroyed, big dent in the sail panel, transmission has 1st and 2nd only, blown PS pump, exhaust rotted out, tires bald, highly advanced rust, pretty much no brakes, interior smells like cheap cologne and french fries, 11,000 extra miles etc. He had it 4 months. It was in excellent shape before.. just ask 82RECAROTA, he saw it. It went from a $2300 car to now being worth maybe $300 for parts. doesn't even start now. I don't have the money to fix it. I offered it to a friend for free but he doesn't have the room. Maybe I'll just let it sit until I have the $$ or part it out eventually.. I don't know. "kennedy" is just my weird way of saying it's dead.

I have a 89TTA & 91TA and both came with the WS6 center caps.
