Question on S/E's
Ive looked in the readers rides section and found only like 10 s/e birds. Are these rare or something..? and was the only way to get a true s/e was to special order the car .. like have the cars options and colors special ordered for the buyer or were these just made and put out like all the others ..
Thanks
Thanks

they started out common in 1982, nothng rare. each year that followed, they sold less and less. I'm sure this site has production numbers. the last year was 1986 when they only made a couple of thousand. they were not special order or anything like that. just a mid-level option. about the colors, they usually did have unique colors, inside and out.
today you will hardly ever see an original S/E of any year, regardless of productiion numbers. it's sad for those of us who like 'em for their uniqueness.

The S/E is like the Berlinetta. There is a 85 Firebird with the Carmine interior color and Russet metallic exterior where I live. Someone NEEDS to save that poor bird. I wish it could be me. Oh well ......two is sufficiant enough for now.
i would be interested in 85 bird with russet color please any information patrick9967@yahoo.com

Um, did you happen to realize the date of the last reply before your post? Something tells me youre a little late here.

The other day in 2002. Sometimes the search feature really sucks. When a thread hasn't seen daylight since 2002 and some clown comes in and posts a reply 4 years later... Every once in awhile it would be worthwhile to just start a new thread, or read the stickies since the question asked inquires about option combinations which GM didn't track.
