Trans Am GT??

I saw an silver 86 Trans Am today, and it had GT emblems on it(on the fenders), and the gfx on it. The owner said that it was the package before the GTA, is this true or b.s.???? I've never heard of it.

Haha, maybe they were GTA emblems with the "A" removed...

I believe there was a 4th gen T/A GT, maybe he took the emblems off of that.

The car looked just like a GTA, had the silver laced rims, gfx and such. The emblems were chrome and said GT on them, I looked real close and it didn't look like the A of GTA was broke off. Could you get a GTA in 86??? I thought 87 was the first year.....

Rims are easily swapped, and all Trans Ams from 1985-1990 had the same GFX as the GTAs. There was not factory "GT" option, its obviously somebodies backyard creation. Take it with a grain of salt.

The ONLY factory TransAm GT was available in 1994 only.

In 94 you could get a TransAm or a TransAm GT. The GT included the high rise spoiler and was fully loaded. The regular 94 T/A had the low spoiler. This was the only year that this was done. If you do a search I know this topic has come up before.

The Firebird GT was the one that included the stripe.

I would call on the 86 Owner too.
