Honestly, I think over time, the RS will still always be an "RS" to prospective buyers. With how many '91-'92 RS's that were made, you'll almost always be able to find a stock one. I say go for it. MOD IT. You'll be happy with the performance (if done right), and you'll also have quite a few selling points later on.
In my case, I had a '92 RS w/L03auto and decided not to mod it... Instead I sold it and bought a '93 Beretta GTZ. Quad4 HO and 5 speed... I got "the bug" with it as well and now I'm pushing approx 225hp out of my little 4 cylinder

I agree. As a sample of what it is stock, nobody is going to care in a few years if it's stock or not; just like a cherry 6-cylinder 69 Camaro isn't worth anything except as something to put a big block in. Nobody goes looking for one like that to the exclusion of others. And these cars are less likely to acquire the desirability even of a 6-cylinder 1st gen.
Just make sure that whatever you do doesn't devalue the car by virtue of being stupid; removing the AC, cutting holes in the hood, cutting wires, etc. would fall into that category. Keep it a nice car, and then at least when you're ready for another car, you won't have a hacked-on POS to unload onto somebody.

How many miles are on it? Is it really "immaculate" or is it just a clean used thirdgen?
If its a low mileage car thats all original and unmolested, I'd say leave it alone. Once you start monkeying with a car its never the same again. A car is only original once and all that jazz. When you start taking things apart nuts and bolts will get marred, eventually they'll start to rust, etc. Clamps get replaced with incorrect aftermarket pieces, hoses are replaced with parts store pieces, etc. The original accurate parts are hard to come by.
If you want the car to be accurate then don't mess with anything that's already correct.
On the other hand... You can modify the car with parts that won't be seen by anyone, and that don't require drilling holes, cutting wires, etc... and you can always return the car back to the original equipment.
Then from another perspective, the car is yours, do what you want to it and never look back cause you'll enjoy the car for what it is to you.
Personally I couldn't make a decision so I bought 4 cars and I'm keeping 1 completely original, another I'm modding here and there in ways that no one will ever notice, another I'm turning into something completely different from where it started but it'll be a 100% accurate clone when its finished. The last is still undecided, it could be restored, or it could be restified. It'll probably get driven.

Its clean...I like it...I'd say do a few bolt ons, and keep it mostly stock. How many clean RSs you see? I had one...it was the only one in town...then I sold it...now its wrecked in a boneyard 11 months later...ARGH!!!!!!!!!!
Sure, RSs weren't rare new, but how many nice ones you see now?? I'd do a few bolt ons, and keep it unmolested for the most part...
Or sell it to me

i just want to add my 2 cents
i say mod your car, do whatever the hell you want with it, add a supercharger, whatever floats your boat.
for instance, i bought my 92 Z, 45,000 miles, orig paint... everybody says keep it stock... keep it stock...
my response was "am i gonna sell this car? do you own this car? will you ever own this car? no? then **** off lol"
i rather spend money and mod my car and be rolling on a car i enjoy than be rolling on a stock piece of ****.

Personally I plan on painting my car metallic orange, adding the knight decal from fast and the furious to both sides, cutting the front ground effects with 2 holes under each market light, adding custom exhaust coming out the rear ground effects behind the rear wheel wells, adding a supra style wing to it, and some very nice 18 inch chrome rims...
but first i think i need some cash lol:lala:

To take a care like that and do that to it is sacreligious...go find a 300ZX or something, man...
You have a very rare Z28, not a friggen **** rocket. Its your car, but I'd cry (or laugh hysterically) if that pulled up next to me
