Engine number

Engine number

Today since ive learned that there is a number on the right cylinder head. So i went out to have a look and i found this number: V0826CHB i think i got it right but i was so hard to see. Now what can you read from this number???

Axle/Gears: 7.5 10 bolt peg leg
It doesn't look like the right number.

Try this site. It tells you where to look and lists all the numbers to decode it.

Hmm i was told that you could get some info from the number on the cylinder head on the right side of the engine

Axle/Gears: 4.10
Scania, check on the block on front of the engine on the right hand side where the head and block meet. There will be a little lip there with hopefully the same VIN as the one on your dash as long as motor is original. Hope this helps

The engine code is correct for your car. V= Engine assembly plant, Flint, Mi. 0826= 08= August, 26= 26th day, CHB = 5.0 TPI with auto trans. Chris
