Cost of CrossFire Injection manifold?

Sorry mods, had no idea were to ask this.

Anyway, does anyone know how much a Crossfire injection manifold and top plate usually sell for? I dont want the TBs, just the manifold and top plate for a little "project" .

Does anyone know what they go for, or were to find them? I've looked in the Classified section and Ebay with no luck.

Oh yea, 1 more thing.. how much clearance is there between the HEI cap and the back TB? Thanks.

BTW... here is my "project" (insert evil laugh here)

Yes, you do see two big 4bbls

Yes, Lykan, it is a thirsty SOB... something to the tune on 8mpg

Thanks for the links 82RECARO, and the measurement... 3.5" should be enough

If all works out the way i think it will, i'll post pics of the engine with it installed (on the stand)... untill then, its a secret

Okay the manifold in the pic is a crossram . The cross fire manifold flows much , much , much less and is a restriction for the stock tbi's. Two Holleys (or any two carbs) would be pointless . If you dont beleive me buy one and pull the top off , see the small runners? Then flip it over and look at the bottom see the blocked off ports?

But hey its your money.

I know that pic is a real '69 Crossram. And I know about the small ports on that manifold.

I don't plan to even use the original top plate, and I plan to HEAVILY modify the lower half and runners. I know that the runners can't be opened up to the same dimentions that a typical sbc manifold can be, but it doesn't have to have monster ports in my case.

Thanks for the reminder though, Evil TA.

(Hey, if that CFI manifold in the pic is yours, are you planning on keeping it? PM me please)

If you want the "look" of the cross ram, check these guys out:

Seems like a good design. Or at least better than stock.

Mark.

I gave mine away last year. As far as modding it the pics are deceiving the very end of the port is the only part of it that has meat on it. Decent flow would involve alot of cutting and welding. Fully ported ones flow as much as a stock tpi manifold (if even that) , which flows like crap . Dont wast your money when you can get a decent crossram from Paw for less than you would spend trying to cut ,weld and add material to the ports.

Agreed. Offy still makes(or did up until December of 01) their copy of the original Z/28 crossram. You can scope out ebay and get your very own, brand new, for around 450.

This "project" is still probably a waste unless you've got a pretty stout engine capable of seeing 7500 RPM(at least) that doesnt wake up until around 3500 RPM. You will probably be completely and totally frustrated when you go to tune and calibrate the carbs too.

Hmm... looking at that "X-ram"..... What If i made a top plate similar to that one that would bolt onto a regular 4bbl intake, and would mount 2 carbs in place of the two TBs?

Ive seen in the paw or pwa catolog a croos ram intake just like that. and you can buy a diffrent top plate if you want for a single four barell also.
