This is far from tech, but I am sick of seeing ads (on ebay, the paper, even TGO) about how rare the car is just based on its options. Just because the car has t-tops and came in arctic white and is a 5 speed does not make it rare. I'm just ranting about people calling their cars rare or uncommon just based on its options. There were millions of thirdgens produced- notchbacks are rare, TTAs are rare... A purple Z28 is not rare.

end of rant.

I agree with you, whole heartedly. Even the cars you mention are not truely rare.

To me, rare means you can't find it even if you can afford to pay any price.

I agree to .. sure it's interesting to know that I have a uncommon interior color.. no big deal.. but it does suck when trying to find replacement parts.. lol

Look on eBay any day of the week and you see 1 of 1546 ever produced! Or people who call the LS1 Firehawks rare; there were ~2000 built each year! Rare is more like a 92 Firehawk... A whole 25 of them ever built... What's even more rare is a 92 Firehawk with t-tops (one)...

haha

Just because a car isn't as rare as what YOU might consider rare, doesn't mean it isn't...RARE.

...but I agree, especially on Ebay, EVERYTHING is rare!

Then there is always the difference between Rare and Desireable.
Some people seem to loose track of it. Its a rare 2.5L 4speed with T-tops. Whohoo.

RARE, hmmmmmm. You know guys, if anybody who really knows what they are buying, believes for one second, that what some smuck on ebay say's is "RARE" deserves what they get. Each and every one of you have stated the obvious to you and me and the rest of the us. So let's forget about them and go for a ride with the "Top Down"
