What you are talking about is for the rear window wiper. The hatch release has nothing to do with those 4 contacts you are seeing.

Oh, ok, thanks, I did not realize that. My 83 T/A had the hatch release and rear wiper. I just never thought about it.
My 83 had rear window louvers, so the rear wiper was removed anyway.
