Something tells me that car is Bogus, its not a 500 mile car. Look at the Radiator Overflow tank, usually it seems the low miles cars are not so brown.

I just have a funny feeling is all...

Plastic and rubber oxidize. The overflow looks on the yellow side but that should be expected.

Looks pretty sharp but its already overpriced, even for the mileage.

The Windshield Washer looked fine... and they are made of the same material.

Don't forget, the car was run every month for 15 years. No miles were added (but hours were) the engine did get used. I'll bet the coolant is brown too.

I'm in no way picking on car or seller, but claim of "all of the options but t-tops" does not seem accurate. Any thirdgenner knows about rear-storage covers, rear compartment trim (carpet), Bose, power antennas, leather, split folding rear seats, etc. Still a great car.

2 things..

1. the price tag on this car is not too high yet. my 87 with 11k miles has been estimated at over 17k right now. The reason I say estimated is because the insurance company took recent auction sales of low mileaged thirdgens and found them to be pushing $20k. I think Barret-Jackson sold one in Phoenix for $18,500 with 6k miles on it.

2. This car isn't fully loaded. I think the window sticker show $18400. My car, 2 years older, has a window sticker over $21k. This car has many options, but not fully loaded by any stretch. Power windows, locks and 350 don't constitute fuly loaded.

Jeez, people are idiots. $15k for a regular IROC? I dont care if it has no miles on it. Some jerk is gonna buy that car and not drive it at all. If I had that car, I'd drive the hell out of it. Thats just luck that the bid got up that high. The only third-gen worth anywhere near that much is the 89 TTA, and I dont even think one of those is worth that much. I guess people just have more money than smarts.

Get used to it. (the higher prices for nice Third's) An extremely low mile, mint, higher optioned, L98, T-Top IROC-Z, is not regular anymore.

I gotta disagree with u there, if you are lucky enough to find a 92 Firehawk for sale they were going for 30 to 45k last time i looked and worth every penny IMO. Does anyone know if the engine in the Firehawk is still considered an L98? SLP T-Ram intake and a Moser ZF-6 (only production thirdgen to come original with 350 and a manual)

No, it's not an L98. Different 4-bolt block.

Wow, look at the price the auction was at. It wasn't enough to meet his reserve!
