1986 Trans AM WS6?

Just bought a 1986 TA parts car, it was originally an LG4 auto. On the dash there is a little badge that says performance suspension, does this mean that it has the ws6 suspension? If it does have ws6 what gears will it have? This site states that 86 LG4 auto's got the 2.73 rear.

That badge doosent mean it has WS6.I think there were a few different level suspension packages. If it were a WS6 it would have a hollow front sway bar and 16" wheels, and stiffer springs.Search for WS6 suspension and you will find everything you need.HTH

THe WS6 was available with the LG4 in 87 for sure, I could only assume it was the same in 1986.

The best way to tell is the RPO sheet, but if that is missing then if you have the 16" rims that were on the 87 Formula then that would also be an indicator.

Other than that break out the calipers and measure the sway bars. I forget the measurements.

Badge was used for Y99 and WS6 supensions. Look for the 16" HiTechTurbo rims like others mentioned for WS6

Easy way to find out what rear it has or used to have is take down the axle code stamped on the front of the passenger side axle tube.
