Starting to think I might have gotten ripped off buying my car.
I just got an 86 z28 in june and im starting to wonder if i got ripped off. i paid 6600 for it. the interior is very clean and the exterior is almost perfect in what i hear is a rare color, gunmetal grey with charcoal gfx. anyways, its got a zz1 motor tpi, edelbrock headers, flowmaster cat back, accel 2x58 throttle body, american racing 15's on radial t/a's, a hypertech chip, and a new 10 bolt rear end with 3.73's. its pretty clean, but i dont know if it was worth it. if you want to see it www.cardomain.com/ride/2040626
Vin # is 1G1FP87F7GL147450 if you notice anything interesting or rare about it. thanks a lot guys, and how much do you think this should be worth?

Personally I think it's a very nice car, however over here it would be worth about 4500-5000. I don't know about your local prices.
It all comes down to if you wanted the car or not.
Love the front plate too
Also, did you buy that from a retail outlet (dealership, etc.) or a private seller? If you bought it from a retailer, the price is understandable.

i got it from a private seller. but i completely forgot to mention that it had 76.7k on the body and around 24k on all the upgrades i mentioned, if that makes much of a difference.
about the plate...my friend (girl
) got a 95 corvette recently. i was checking it out and i saw the plate in the back seat and my face lit up so big, i was like OMG i must have it. and she was like...uh...ok? and i was like serious, i can have it, and she was like yea sure i guess so. i was so happy and she had no idea why. its things like that which make me happy...like a camaro flashlight for example

Answer this question:
Do you love your car?
Yes? Then yeah. It's worth all that. If not, well... that's a different problem.
Ever take it to the track?

Haha I love things like that too.. I'm looking for a 25th anniversary keychain pretty avidly as we speak
But cadi is right, if you love your car, and wouldn't trade it for anything, then yeah the money was worth it.
Good mileage on the car too, that makes it worth more.

There is only one thing I would trade my car for, and that is the first camaro i checked out. It was black with silver gfx. it had a 334 stroker, all painted black with pearl like the car with all chrome parts. it had the camaro fabric interior with the orange carpets and the orange and yellow seats. everything I have on my list of mods I want to do to my car was on that car. originally the owner was asking for 10, but he was moving in less than a week and dropped it to 6. my dad didnt believe him or me about the shift kit, so we went home and he talked to the mechanic, and when we called the guy back it was already gone! That is the only other camaro that I have seen that I like better than mine and it should be
. and honestly, I do think about it every night and lose sleep over it. but i am happy with what i have.
BTW, low 12's on a perfect day with some slicks on the back.

well i raced my friend with a 12.5 mustang on numerous occasions...from lights, rolls etc and i always beat him. then again the best he ever got at the track was a 13.1 after going numerous times, but the previous owner got a 12.5. maybe i missed something in the description.

Stop worring about what you paid. There are many of us with over 3 times that amount in our cars. It looks like a nice little hot rod just enjoy it.

ZZ4 86 Z28,
As I have said in the past, the vaule of the car is only what someone is willing to pay. You paid what you thought it was worth . stop beating yourself up over the price. Personally I would love for you to come to Wa state & race me once I get my car finished.

Geo...? Burnouts??? I missed something here...
Not starting a flame war, but those mods you listed sound like they are good for mid to high 13's with a great R/T and traction. Go get some timeslips! Racing kicks ***
Anyways, great looking car! More that I would have paid, but if you are happy that's all that counts.
EDIT: Saw you have a stock 700R4 and 3:73's... hmm, not really sure what it would run. I'll stick to my guess above, but prove us wrong!
