David M, Are You Still Out There?

Could you or someone please tell me how to find the EXACT build date for my car? I see it was made 5/89, but I wonder is there a way to find the day too?

I love Firebird History!

I was told TODAY that Pontiac only goes back to 1994 not sure why since most of the Chevy guys can get their stuff and Pontiac guys cant...

Probably the jerks at PHS.

I have ordered everything I can from PHS; window sticker, dealer packet and I think its really neat to see. They had no trouble getting it for my 1989 car. I e-mailed them about an RPO so who knows, maybe they can help me with this too.

Just go to a Pontiac dealer and ask the Parts guy to run your VIN. All the RPO codes for your car will display on his screen and you can just have him print it. Slip him 20 bucks for the favor.

I call BS on that one. I think those dealership guys are just lazy. Here is a way for you to defintely get the info. If you are willing to pay $40.00, call George Zappora at 1-888-467-6853. He is with Vintage Vehicle Services at GM of Canada. Now I know this sounds weird - going to GM of Canada to get information about your US car when you can't get the info from GM in the US.

I was able to get the info from these guys on my '88 IROC which was built and sold in California. You get a really nice package identifying when the car was built, where it was originally sold, what color it originally came in and every option the car came with. Well worth the money.

But you have a chevrolet.... As stated before, the Chevy guys seem to have all the luck when it comes to this as I hear all the time how pontiac does not have the records... I am thinking that PHS buys them from GM and in turn sells them to whoever wants the info.

Let's see, my options currently in motion are
1) I have an e-mail into PHS, still pending
2) I'm going to try and get ahold of the dealership that originally sold the car
3) I have e-mailed David M in hopes that he can help me

Hylton, I WILL try and call George and I thank you for trying to help me escape my blunder

Now all I need is for someone to tell me the car was stolen...haha
Eric
