88 Production question-

So i was bored this evening, and decided to figure out what the production number of my iroc is. After finding that the 12th-17th numbers are the production number, I became confused.

There were 96,275 Camaros produced in 1988?

Why is my vin listing it as 104276?

Am I looking at this wrong?

Any way to find out what # Iroc I may have?

The sequence numbers start at 100001. Your car is the 4,275th to roll off the assembly line. What you have is an early built '88 model. It was more than likely made in late Summer/early Fall 1987.

No way to find out exactly what number IROC your's is. Somebody would have to look at the dealer invoices for the 4,274 cars built before yours.

This site isn't always 100% accurate, but they have some good info. Partway down the page they have the explanation of the build codes, including the build date.

Indeed. I want FcSoldier's car, but he's on the wrong side of the country, so I can't take a look at it.
