EXPERTS! Help with info on a rare interior, PLEASE!

I just bought a 85 z28 that has a lot of options. The one I am most curious is the interior. The driver seat is a power 6 way unit ( most comfortable seat I've ever been in, by the way) that has material down the middle that features "CAMARO" written down the center of the seat several times. All of the seats, including rear, have this, as well as the door panels. So far, I've got that it's a "Lear siegler contour" interior. I've never seen one of these before, and any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
PS The rpo codes for the interior are AC3, AF9 (which denotes it as comeing from an "outside vendor"), and AG9.

Well, what kind of information do you want? Do you want me to ramble on about the Cotton/Polyester blend of the fabric? Ask an actual question and I'm sure people will be more willing to answer.

I'm not a Camaro guy..... but all of those RPO codes you listed have to do with the 6-way power seat your car has.

I've seen these interiors on several Camaros in the early-mid '80s..... maybe somebody will help you out with more info. I always kinda liked them.

But for you to get very far, assistance-wise, on these boards..... a different tone will be necessary. There have been enough Internet backstabbing and squabbling incidents lately that folks will just ignore posts like this one. Just my opinion.....

Still, I hope you get what you're looking for here.

What do you mean "A different tone"? I said please, help would be appreciated, and thanks ahead of time. I don't know what upset you, but sorry for whatever it was.
Anyway, who made the seats, what was the package called, and would it be worth the extra money to get them recovered as they came from the factory, not just a solid color (the center with the logo is mint, just the side is bad). Hope that's specific enough to get help.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR TIME AND KNOWLEDGE IN AN AREA I AM UNFAMILIAR WITH.
(is that a better tone?)

Its an unusual interior, but not really rare. Is it orange, brown, and red alternating, with "Camaro" on each panel?
I'd say it was a rather unpopular option. I've seen that interior in a couple of 84 Z28's. The seats themselves are not uncommon at all, as they were used in every Z28 from 82-92. Only the covers, and the lumbar if yours have them are unusual.

Its kinda like Crossfire injection, at first glance it looks kinda cool, then either the novelty wears off, or you're the only one who thinks its cool.

Dan,

The L/S Conteur seats were available in three colors in 1985. With a black interior, the seats and door panels had gray cloth inserts. An interesting fact is that the gray seats were not made available with a gray interior. They were also made in red and saddle. The driver's seat had 18 adjustment variations. These seats were optional only in the Z28 and IROC-Z (in 1985).

The Contour seats were quite rare. Power seats were not.

The interior is black, with the camaro in alternating gray shades and does have lumbar support. Thanks for your help, guys, I was wondering what the package was called, hmmm, contour. Thanks again.

if your interior code is 19D, than 2510 '85 Z28's or IROC's had this interior. Chris '87 conv, 1 of 263

Is a car with this interior worth alot? I've got an 85 IROC with this black contour interior that's in really good condition except it's dirty as hell, and I'm only asking $699.

And not as a sales pitch, but for those who want to see what the countour interior looks like, I've got some pics on my site. I really like the look of the seats.

Also, I heard this interior was known as the "Camaro Camaro Camaro" interior with Dual Contour seats.

I've got an 83 sales brochure and the fabic & logo combination you're talking about is called the "Custom Interior". My car has it too & I've got mixed reactions to it. As far as production figures, I haven,t heard (let us know if you find anything out).

The six-way power track, as someone mentioned, isn't at all rare. The Conteur, however, is certainly rare in comparison. I put one on my six-way power track to make it as flexible as possible--the seat itself has several adjustments: adjustable thigh support, adjustable 'wings' on the seat bottom and seat back, and adjustable lumbar region. All in all the seat makes driving quite enjoyable. Pics if anyone would like.

Dan, your interior is kind of rare especially on a Z28. This interior usually found it's way onto IROC's. Everybody's right about the interior code being 19D and you do have the L/S conteur seats. The seat material listed in the GM parts catalog is "Camaro/Darwin Cl" I'm assuming the Cl is for cloth. As far as getting these seats recovered in the original material will be virtually impossible. I have already tried to locate this material and have had no luck.

I have that interior in my 84 Z28, no power seats though. I have never seen it in any other vehicle in MI. People always ask me if I had it done.

Wow, this thread came back from the dead.

Anyway, in the last few weeks I've seen some of that "CAMARO" cloth on ebaymotors.com. The guy is asking around $150 for the roll, which is a hell of a deal considering he may have one of the only rolls left in existance. I have to believe that in a few more years, if thirdgens ever make it into the hands of the restoration crowd, that some of that crap will start to get reproduced. I wanted one of those interiors for my IROC in the worst way, but because those interiors don't exist in good shape, and the material is non existant, I settled for 4th gen seats. My cousin had an 83 Z28 with the blue Contour interior in it, and it was very, very nice.
