Anyone ever here of this camaro?

A while back on Ebay some one was selling a '90 Iroc 1LE Camaro w/ a 350 in it. They were specially made race cars & only about 28 were made. Is this true? Wish i could of saved the pic.

I've never seen and IROC 1LE but it is very possible, I'm suprised there are no GTA 1LE's. They were not specially made race cars, the 1LE RPO code and package was nothing more than an upgraded suspension and brakes from the WS6 or the Camaro's equivelent. They had Corvette brakes and special swaybars and stuff, nothing special....

Yes the car sounds legit. My neighbor has a 90 1LE Iroc w/ a 350. The car has 5000 miles on it. I believe their were only 28 made that year (I could be wrong).

There are IROC 1LE's they are just not as common. From 1988-1990 Chevy used the top model as the 1LE which was the IROC. As for Pontiac, the reason there were no 1LE GTA's is because probably the GTA was made to be the luxury package kinda deal and 1LE's were stripper cars. Thats why you see more 1LE formulas.

There are a few Trans Am 1LE's too. I believe all you had to do was delete A/C and one other option to trigger the 1LE package....

but also wit the 1le's they had the special brakes, the had a corvette tranny or it was tuned just like the corvette tranny, also it had suspention upgrades that were better than the ws6 suspention at the time. also it came with absolutly nothing pwoer excupt for brakes and steering( no power windows, doorlocks, no rear defroster, no fog lights) it had the alum. driveshaft, i think it was a 3.27 posi rear i dont rememebr the gear ratio. and thats all i can think of. oh yeah and they did make a firebird 1le it was called the formula at the time u had to special order that, so it wasnt the gta 1le it was the formula. well gtg later

In 1988, there were 4 1LE's made. I know of one in New Mexico. There other 3 are not known if they still exist.

In 1989, there were 111 made.

In 1990, there were 62 made, 28 with the 350 auto and 34 with the 305 5 speed.

1991, Chevrolet announced the 1LE publicly and 478 were made.

In 1992, There were about 700 made.

hope this helps!!!

The 1LE's used the same sway bars as the late WS6 pontiacs. Springs were the only part of the suspension that was really 1LE specific, and even then they occassionally use the same springs as other thirdgens. The real 1LE rule is dual piston front brakes and no a/c. Everything else is left to chance.
