91-92 Firebird nose cone?

Ok simple question, what is the name of the different nose cone on the 91-92 Firebirds called? And is there any reason they changed it before the model was changed?

I was asked what type of nose cone I had and I'd like to answer them corerctly.

It's called the "Banshee" nose.

It is based on the nose of the "Banshee" concept car that Pontiac built in the 80's.

If you'll notice the noses of the early 4th gen cars look a bit similar to the '91-'92 Birds. Looks like Pontiac was experimenting with the new design on the last years of the thirdgens before rolling out the new cars in '93.

I love the '91-'92 Formula nose as to why I got into those cars. Looks so slick, and even today they are an arm and leg for a replacement nose. Andy

The 91-92 front bumper cover is the reason I fell in love with 3rd gens too. I will never forget going to look at a 8? Firebird parts car from a guy who had 2 or 3 other Birds and having him ask where I got my bumper and ground effects and then argueing they weren't stock. Certainly sets them apart in a crowd.

91'-92' Nose Cone

I am with your guys! I found a 91' GTA and had to buy it due to the look. It needs a lot of restoration work but I cannot part with it because of how unique it looks. I actually have an extra 91' GTA nose cone if anyone is interested. It will need a little work to get in tip top shape though.

To us Pontiac guys in the know,
Its the Banshee nose.
But to body shops, GM parts guys, and even aftermarket guys, and most people, it's just the front bumper cover for a 1991-1992 Firebird/Trans Am, or the 1991-1992 Firebird/Formula.
