Couldn't find via search...

What year did body panels start getting VIN labels (theft reduction)? 1989 RS has them, built April 1989.

Both my 87 and 88 TA have them, although it appears the 87 had less of them compared to the 88.

I want to think it was 87, I will have to check my buddies 86. I think they stoped using them in 1991 or 1992. My 1990 Riv had them, but I do not recall my 91 Formula or the 91 Firehawk I looked at having them.

My 84, 85, and 86 did not have them. My 89 does. I know someone with an 88 that does.

I've got them on '94, '96, and 2000 years of other GM models. My '86 T/A does not have them.

My brothers 86 Firebird had them when we were restoring it. (he sold it and now has a 00 Ram Air T/A, The Traitor) And my old 87 had them as well.

My friends 86 T/A does have them its and early production 86 TA with the 140 Speedo W/O the KPH listed.

I'm wondering if it is a Norwood thing vs a Van Nuys car. Both of mine were Van Nuys cars, the late '86 doesn where the late '87 GTA does.
