Is there any conceivable way to figure out how many '91 RS's had a leather interior? Mine is the only coupe I have ever seen that has one. The Camaro White Book does not break down leather interior counts, so I assume there is no way to know? Its just interesting to see an M5/leather-equipped RS...

I don't know but the third gen all leather looks great in our cars. I have the charcoal grey.

Stock thirdgen leather is so sexy. I wish I could get my hands on some nice thirdgen leather seats.

 

Its funny that you guys like it so much...I considered tearing mine out in favor of aftermarket replacement cloth. I'm a perfectionist, and didn't like th fact that the leather at the top of the back seat has shrunk slightly (I'm sure your RS has too, 92 RS), and that its in general pretty hard at this point. But, because its kinda neat to have OEM leather in an RS, I figure I'll continue conditioning the hell out of them, and make them as soft as I can. I need to replace the outter driver's seat bolster (big surprise) with a vinyl piece, and restitch and repad the base of the driver's seat, and then my leather is 80-85% perfect. It looks real good, but if you stare at it, you can see where the driver's seat bottom is scuffed a tiny bit. Then again, how often will I stare at it anyway. Like I said, I'm a perfectionist...even when it comes to a car I bought specifically for summer driving to have fun with, and keep the miles off my Z28 (and hopefully, FINALLY an IROC when I'm done with the remaining body and interior work on this car!!)

Someday when someone hopefully comes out with a replacement leather kit, I'll be all over that...

 

I saw a white 91 rs with a leather interior at the junkyard last month.Only thing I dont like about the leather seats are that they crack from wear

 

I've never seen a production figure for the interior color/ fabric for the '91's, so we can only guess, but chances are most of the leather interiors went to the Z28's. I bought a '91 RS new and it had gray leather with the teal exterior, it had every option you could get including a engine block heater and the rear window louvers (the factory forgot to put them on) and was a 5-speed/305. also on the lot was the same car in Arctic White/Red leather, I took the teal one.

 

Did your car have a power seat? I'm not even sure if they were available on an RS. The only options I can see that my car doesn't have are power mirrors, a power seat and a CD player...my RPOs claim it had a tape deck, which is long gone...

What is interesting is that even though I didn't buy either of my cars new, I would have chosen the EXACT options each of my cars have if I had. I would have wanted a red RS with a V8, stick, t-tops, all power and leather, and a 30th Z28 with a stick, t-tops, the power package and leather. Weird how that worked

 

I also have the gray leather in my 91 rs vert....
