Iroc-z

When I'm looking through the info about the 350's in iroc's there are a couple years with an asteriks next to it that says only 50-75 were made, what happened to those cars were they ever actually released or just trashed?

Re: Iroc-z

Didn't come from GM with it.

My Camaro which is a 83 had a 400 for about 12 years; didn't come with that either.

As stated, the handful of 86 350 "test cars" were never released to the public. Would have been illegal: that combo wasn't emissions-certified at that time. GM would have ended up in federal court paying some unimaginably enormous fine.

But of course, that doesn't prevent someone else from coming along and putting a 350 (or a 400) in one LATER.

Please post the first part of your VIN (up to the string of numbers) to at least start proving this bold statement you make, assuming you mean your 86 came from the factory with a 350 in it.

Re: Iroc-z

A 350 was 5.7 not 5.0, your 86 is a 305, very minimal differences visually from a 305 and a 350, many assume that they have a 350 by just looking at it. Go to Carfax and run your VIN again and see if it brings up 5.7 or 5.0, I bet it will say 5.0. Just my 2 cents.
Check this section out and look under your console for the engine code:

350 5.0L doesn't exist, the 5.0L is a 305. Like I said, post your partial VIN, if the 8th digit is not an 8 then you don't have a 350.
