BOT on Body Options line on Radiator Support Tags

This came up on the early third gen forums. A trim tag from a 1984 Norwood Trans Am has "BOT" on the body options line. I did a search here and the only time that came up was five years ago on a 15th anniversary car. Back then no one had any idea what it was.

Dens71TA over there said he doesn't see it on his Van Nuys cars. So does any one have any idea what BOT is?

I've been meaning to post a picture of it, just never got around to it. As I said it seems to be on other cars as well. Specifically the ones from Norwood. This is where I wish mine was still on the car as my car is also a Norwood car.

At first I was going to disagree with you because of the shape of the 0. its more rounded then the other 0. but after looking at it it may just be another font. Did GM use the letter o in any RPOs?

oh and I don't know what B0T means. but I'd be very interested to find out.

Hmm...very interesting. My 84 Norwood Trans Am doesn't have the BOT on the tag.

well that establishes the fact that not all cars from Norwood had it. Perhaps cars from Van Nuys had it as well. I was unable to establish anything further because my car is missing the radiator support tag. Now that there is the possibility that it was on California built cars as well, perhaps we can figure out what it means.

I wonder if it means "BODY ON TRIM".

firebirdta84, does your car have the B97 wheel flares or W62 aero ground effects package? I'm thinking it might have something to do with the W62.

Re: BOT on Body Options line on Radiator Support Tags

I looked through the pics of cowl tags I have. one Norwood T/A had what looked like BOT but I'm not sure (pic was a little fuzzy) one Van Nuys S/E did not have it and one Van Nuys Firebird did not have it either.
