What should I offer for this IROC?
http://www.sportscargroup.com/carsforsale.aspx It's *suppose* to be yellow but has obviously faded bad. BUT it appears to have no rust from the pics and looks pretty straight. KBB says a EXCELLENT IROC should sell for 2400 through a private party, and this thing is NOT Excellent. Fair is what I would rate it because it needs bodywork/paint. The reason I am liking it though is because its a Yellow one and appears original and real from the pics. Thoughts?
EDIT: sorry it's the yellow IROC 3rd car down on the page.

Re: What should I offer for this IROC?
I would say that the car is a solid $1500. It has been repainted once before with a cheap paint, that's why it looks so bad. The interior is not in the greatest shape, the miles is high and the tranny was replaced, but with what? I'd keep looking if I was trying to locate a daily driver. My advice, buy as much car as you can afford. Buying something that requires a lot of work will cost you more in the end.

There is absolutely no way you can tell the condition of a car by pictures. You've got to kick it and feel it, unless you don't care and know pretty much everything there is to doing repairs and have the cash. Thats is without a doubt a repaint, they even painted the GFX.

Re: What should I offer for this IROC?
Well I went down to the dealer earlier today and even thought they were closed the car was outside. I went and looked at it, and while the body is pretty straight, there is some rust that started on the right rear quarter panel at the bottom behind the door. The car also may have been stolen at one point since the drivers door lock is a little messed up and rusting around the lock cylinder hole. So basically It looks worse in person. Damn, I really want a yellow IROC too. Oh and plus it had that other brand of T Tops the ones that dont look right with the big edges on em. However, and VERY NICE Rust free T/A was beside it, and was very clean. Price on it's window was 5900 which obviously he wouldnt get unless he gets lucky. Im thinking of calling and talking to him about that one and see what he will take for it.

I agree with the $1500, offer it to him, if he declines give him your number then wait a few days see if he calls you back.
My dad and I have done this on a number of cars like this most have called and up are offer a little but not much more or taken the offer. For alot of people if there is money they could have even if it's not the money they want, they will take it.
If he doesn't well you can go buy it for what he is selling it for or find another camaro.
