1983 Daytona Pace car

Hey guys, what is the story on the 83 Daytona Firebirds? were they all the same or could you get different options>? I have found one with 6700 original miles on it, and it looks the part. There are a few flaws here or there but it looks like its legit.
What is there to look for to see if its an orginal car, or one someone made to look like it?
Do these cars bring extra value compared to other 83's? what would a price RANGE be?
Thanks!
tim

Re: 1983 Daytona Pace car

Forgot to add some details... Says car is a Trans Am, it does have the GFX, it is two tone black (bottom) and white (top) It has a budge in the hood like the Formulas, it has the wording on the doors. It has an auto trans.

Re: 1983 Daytona Pace car

There are only a hand full of people who pay good money for these cars.
A 6,700 mile car would top out 12K to 16K for a perfect one.
NADA really means nothing for these cars.
Most people would rather spend that kind of money on a fourth gen or a TTA.
IMHO

Re: 1983 Daytona Pace car

So if I found one that turns out to be legit, for $3500 it could be worth it? If I decided to resell I should at least be able to get my investment back..

Those old Pace Cars are very cool. I'd grab it,pace cars in general always have that special place in the collectors market. The more origional the better too. It's the unmodded odd ball cars that fetch top dollar.

Re: 1983 Daytona Pace car

Does the car have 6,700 Miles or 67,000 miles ?
Big difference on what the car is worth......
A car with 6,700 miles in great condition at $3,500 would be a steal.
A car with 67,000 miles at $3,500 would be in line with today's market value.

Re: 1983 Daytona Pace car

No way a 6,700 mile car would sell for $3,500 unless it was wrecked, incomplete, or sat outside unwashed for 26 years.
