Attempting to determine the production date of my IROC
I have searched through this section of the forum somewhat and found lots of information and people having sucess with 1992 cars, but I cannot find any info on my 1989 iroc. I would like to know when it was built. If anyone can help with some more experience, I'd greatly appreciate it!

Yes, I tired the same website, but they had nothing for my vin. Anyone else? I will look at the door stickers and see if I can get some more info, but I lost my rpo tag years ago, both in the glovebox and in the hatch,so I am trying to get some of the info back for the car that was lost.

You can look at the sticker on the drivers door if its still there and if the door hasnt been changed with another one from a different camaro. It will tell you what the month and year it was built. My iroc is an 89 and it says on the door sticker that the month and year is 09/88. It will get you in the ballpark but wont tell you the exact day it was built. Not forsure but maybe if you could find a build sheet hidden in the car, it might tell you the day it was built. Mine was under the carpet in the hatch well but was destroyed by a water leak I had at one time.

Unless the vehicle is Canadian, Compnine (and likely your local dealer) won't have information on the vehicle if it's older than 1990.
You'd probably have to go to GM Archives and order a kit to get an invoice with some of the information.

It likely won't have production date, nor all of the RPO codes, but will give you some information on the car.

Another long-shot possibility might be to try to find a trim or build sheet in the car somewhere. Under the seats or carpet, etc. It's a crapshoot because they arn't in all cars.

Re: Attempting to determine the production date of my IROC
Unfortuneately I did not find any build sheets when I swapped from red interior to black. It was in poor condition and I did not check as thoroughly under the seat cushion as I should have. This was seven years ago, and I knew a great deal less than I do now. My car has some changes from factory, and I would just like as much info on it as possible, for sentimental reasons. Looks like I will go the $50.00 route and purchase a Vehicle Invoice from GM Heritage. thanks guys

Is there a date on the sticker under the dash pad? I can't access my pictures from work, so I don't remember. When I took the dash pad off, there was a label under it. It wasn't the IP test sheet, but another one that looked specific to my car. Or is my mind fried because it's Friday???
You can still get a copy of the original invoice. Again, I can't confirm if that has a build date on it because I can't see my pictures from work! Did I mention that I can't see my pictures from work?

Ok, I found a copy of my invoice on TGO and it does not show the build info. It does tell me that it was shipped to the dealer on July 17th, 1987, however, I know it was built in June 1987. Th einvoice does not provide the info you are looking for.
