Tell me more about prototypes?????????
I'm very interested in learning more about all the prototype cars, the camaro with the TA style taillights. Believe it was a 90 iroc. The TTA prototypes and convertibles ive read a little about. Not such. The black TTA. The 25th ANV. Prototype.
Tell me more please.

You might try asking for Rich at Carmotorsports to find out info on prototype TTA's - he's pretty much the TTA historian. I ordered a rear carpet kit from them about 7 yrs ago and at that time he still had the convertible TTA that was once owned by PAS CEO Jeff Bietzel, and two of the five prototype TTA's. Needless to say being a TTA owner myself we talked for sometime when I placed my order. He owns the burdandy mule that was the testfitment vehicle (which was actually a 88 GTA) and the black TTA which was the emissions test car. Don't know his involvement with the company anymore or if he still has any of the cars, but if he's still there I'm sure he'll answer any question you have as he a super cool guy.

Re: Tell me more about prototypes?????????
I believe Rich left Car Motorsports quite awhile ago,and Rich's whole page about the prototypes on Car Motorsports site was pulled from the site.
I spoke the owner of Car Motorsports about this at one time, and he put the pages back up temporarily, just so that I could access them & get the pics & info from the pages. Unfortunately, I no longer have that info.
CORRECTION: I just looked through my Bookmarks & Rich's page is still active on the Car Motorsports site.

Re: Tell me more about prototypes?????????
Probably not going to be of much help, but the car is in Gran Turismo 4 on PS2...that's where I first saw it. At first I thought they had made a mistake since it has the 85-90 T/A taillights. They call it just an IROC-Z Concept I think.

Through my conversation with Rich (if I recall correctly) the Black emissions prototype was an 88 GTA as well. It had to be outfitted with all the specific TTA parts right down to the guages and even the front 1LE brakes to appeas EPA testing. Also, none of the production prototypes where white.
PAS prototype TTA with a ZF 6-speed
Not related to the prototypes, but still interesting TTA lore. Rich mentioned that Scott Kelly the Tech. Rep. for PAS, who tuned all the TTA's, let five cars leave PAS production with a "modified" wastegate orifice. Thus, having a little more boost than the factory set 16.5 psi. His initials a supposed to be under the hood of the "hotter" editions. Also, due to the cold temps at Indy in 89 they got one of the three actual pace cars to hit 171 mph in the straights during testing.
