82-84 berlinetta
hey guys sorry about the title reason being i dont know exactly what year it is, i do know its a berlinetta and it has the appearance package to prove it badges in gold, silver with gold and black striping at the bottom, idk if it is a 305 lg4 car or it has the 2.8l wether or not it has the lg4 will really effect my decision, just wondering if you guys could tell me if it was or wasn't car is for sale at 2800 the body looks pretty much straight it has a cb and the interior is pretty much thrashed and trashed looks to be "customized" in the late 80s sometime and i believe it has the double needle speedo and a clock in the center console? never seen one there before but i am only 17, anyone got any opinions (and i know you do) as to if its worth the money, i've always wanted a maro, i ended up with a bird, funny
Re: 82-84 berlinetta
84 and later Berlinetta have the digital dash and pedestal mounted radio. The dual needle speedometer makes it a 82 or 83. If everything on the dash is labeled, it's an 82, like the headlight ****... if it says headlights instead of just having the headlight pictogram on the ****, it's an 82. For some reason in 82 they figured people are stupid, like the cigar lighter says "lighter" under it, as though the picture of a cigarette didn't give it away.
Unless it's minty, $3000 for a Berlinetta is highway robbery. Especially if it's a V6... A V6 in a thirdgen = sub thousand dollar price tag. If it's a V8 it's probably worth $1500-2000. For $3000 it should be damn near mint condition.

Re: 82-84 berlinetta
thanks Drew i really like the car and the interior was pretty much a gamble at best as nothing was in very good condition but about how much should i try and haggle the price down to 6-700 sound like its reasonable for it?

Hate is such a strong word. They were marketed to be the fancy, 80s techy, cruising, luxury version of the 3rd maybe even safe to say marketed towards the female consumer.
Never meant to be a performance model...but you can make it one
I like seeing them and have some admiration for em.

I will say that I like the Berlinettas a whoooole lot better than the Sport Coupes.
I actually really like the unique 80s cheesiness that they did with the interiors on 84-86 cars. Definitely something rare and unusual that will definitely be interesting in the future.
But that's not to say that Berlinettas will ever be valuable or even really that desirable.
