Sometimes I cannot believe the absurdity - Fake 1989 Camaro CD player sells for $500

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...c#ht_500wt_711

That's right, this is not a real 1989 Camaro CD player. It's a 1990-94 Olds Cutlass Supreme CD player. Someone bought it for $500, why?

I had a real 1989 Camaro CD player on ebay, it sold for a whole $30.

Mind you, it went to a good home but Cutlass Supreme CD players are worth about $100 working.

Someone probably bought this for a "correct" Camaro restoration and got royally screwed.

Initially, I was as dimayed as you were. Then I realized why somebody would dare even ask that ridiculous amount for an incorrect item. Look at the seller. That will tell you all you need to know. That guy is a joke. He's been banned on here under two or three different names. If you're not aware of what I am talking about, here you go:

He is still on here as fast87vert.Guy is a total ripoff.I just gutted one of those cd players from a junkyard 90`s cutlass for the plastic lens to put in a yellow button 90-92 cd player I had.Man for that price I should have bought the whole radio

because he knows there is still folks out there that havent heard of him and will buy his stuff not knowing.

he has a set of 91-92 T/A GTA tails that have delamination and hes selling them at $400.

as for a 3G factory CD player, all the ones i have found go for $175 or better.
would have jumped on the one you had if it were for a bird for $30

Re: Sometimes I cannot believe the absurdity - Fake 1989 Camaro CD player sells for $

I didn't know about him, but I would never use him again. I bought for $50 a Firebird console...based on the RPOs, it was out of a '91 V6 car. Its was in the condition he stated, and shows well NOW...it was DISGUSTINGLY filthy when he sent it to me.

Who doesn't even clean parts to sell them? This guy...the pics were so grainy, I'm lucky I didn't get screwed, in retrospect....I couldn't even tell it was dirty.

That radio has been on eBay for a long time. At least three months. I was thinking af buying one of the 89 CD units (not his) but I did my research. After all the research I changed my mind and if it was not on my RPO sheet, I don't need it. If it was on an RPO sheet - let this be a lesson - RESEARCH everything.

I do not know why but the feedback ratings are not always accurate. Before I had heard about him here I had ordered something and left negative feedback. That feedback isn't there any more. The part was not what was described.

His name is actually Fazt87Vert, with a z not an s. Refer to the link blacksunshine'91 listed. In a thread posted about a hypertech chip, he does admit that he is the same guy as fazztoyz13 on ebay. What a rip off. Who in there right mind would ask that price, let alone who would buy it for that. Maybe he is buying his own parts to boost his rating.

This is why I am nervous as hell buying things from members, even though there are so many good, legit members here. Puts a bad taste in your mouth, and makes you question everyone. Too bad!

I emailed that seller months ago about that, he knew what he was selling.

I got a 89' deck a few months ago for under $50 shipped.

fazttoyz13 ripped me off too
I have a thread in the feed back section about it.
What amazes me is I check a lot of completed items on ebay to see what I should list my stuff for and I see his stuff on there all the time. He ALWAYS sells stuff for way more then anyone else.
It almost doesn't seem legit someone is dumb enough to do an ebay search and buy his item for triple what 10 other auctions list the same thing for. Seems very very shady.

Ive been selling parts on ebay for 10 years now and I recently noticed that other sellers are getting good money for their parts while I barely get any bids on the exact same items.

eBay has continued to get shaddier by the day. I've noticed parts that I've been outbid on, only to pop back up on eBay a day or two later. A lot of sellers have multiple accounts for no other reason than to drive up prices on their parts.

It's been a few years since I've even considered making a purchase from ebay.
It started when a seller in San Diego was selling a black California IROC-Z. Someone from another board asked if I was selling my car. Sure enough, pictures of mine were hijacked, and placed on his auction. I immediately notified the correct parties at ebay & sent the seller a little something. I neither got a response from the seller, or ebay. So, I cancelled my account of eight years, and must say I haven't missed it.
Sorry to go off topic, but yes, lots of shadyness with ripples of fraud happening there.
