I like the way Bob barker described it as the Legendary Trans Am from Pontiac. Because you know it is.

It's just sometimes amazing to think they were ever new. My '91 feels like a ghost from a completely different time, and is received that way by those who see it. Hard to believe that even 15 years ago, they were common on the streets!

Re: The price is right

The specs bob barker read about the car were of a firebird v6, the car they showcased WAS A Base Level Trans Am 5.0 LG4. That was an error on Part of the script writer or prompter Bob was reading off of.

Re: The price is right

I like the 3rd or 4th item up for bid. They call it a video cassette recorder. That brings back memories. Suggested retail price was 800 bucks. WOW!!!! Boy times have changed. The old man at the end ended up with 61,000 dollars cash and prizes. Main prize in the showcase showdown was a lincoln towncar. Guessing that the car cost atleast 25 to 30,000. Total for the whole showcase I think was 58,000 with the other prizes. That was alot of money in 86.

I like how they read the tire sizes to the crowd...

Wonder where that car is today. It'd be cool to have it along with a copy of the video. Nice piece of history to go with that Trans Am...

Re: The price is right

And we wonder why there are so many people who owned the cars back in the day that have no idea what they actually had. Here was have on television a "2.8 Trans Am".

Nice Monte...shame it wasn't an SS. A bit of trivia is that the first car offered and won as a prize in TPIR was a 1972 Chevy Kamback Vega

Call me crazy but I think that LS front end should have been the standard SS front end looks more "sporty" than a SS front nose
