That is a Daytona.
The wheels are known as Aero wheels. They are almost identical to the standard N89 wheel except for the sealed lip.

I am thinking about buying it...is 6500 too much? Do most people Restore them to original or change them? ( kitt replica, black etc)

Aus 6500 is US 6800. It is getting really hard to find any TAs now especially with T tops..if I was to buy it, is it advisable to "keep" it as a a Daytona and not modify the body?

Re: Is this a Daytona?
Let's see only 520 5-spd DT500's made,Who knows how many are still around let alone in Australia !!
So in this case the "Australian market" is irrelevant for a collector car like this.
Waveformkid,I WOULD recommend you buy it as long as you plan on keeping it FACTORY STOCK !!,If you want a T/A to "Play" with or Customize, turn into a KITT,Then I suggest you keep on looking for a regular bird.
Just my 2 cents
