"82" Trans Am with white wheels/taillights

I found an "82" Trans Am that looks suspiciously like an '84 15th Anniversary model.

Is this an 84 or did they make something similar in 82?

Re: "82" Trans Am with white wheels/taillights

That package was only offered in 84' as the 15th anniversary T/A. Nothing even close in 82' or 83'. It is either really an 84', or someone built a clone from an 82'. Check the vin number to be sure of the year. The sticker inside the driver's side door jamb should also match the VIN and have the build date and original tire size. In 84' only the 15th anniversary cars came with 245/50R16. 16" wheels were not available otherwise until 85'.

Also, if you can fine the RPO code decal in the console, you can check for the 15th Anniversary package. I don't know the RPO code for that, but I'm sure another member here can chime in and help out with that info.

If it's real, sounds like a nice car.

Re: "82" Trans Am with white wheels/taillights

Wow not bad of a car and price !!!!

Yes as stated it's a 1984 15TH Anniversary and judging by the exterior pics it still looks pretty original !!

Only thing that worries me is WHY the seller thinks it's an '82 ?? If he had all the correct title and paper work for it,Would have "1984" in many places !! Especially for a California car !!

Speaking of typos, i don't recall Pontiac making firebirds in 1884 or even existing in 1884.http://inlandempire.craigslist.org/cto/3675680873.html

I just contacted the guy and he/she confirmed that it's from 1984. seems like a weird typo to make.

Re: "82" Trans Am with white wheels/taillights

They were all L69 cars.. the L69 was Standard on the '84 Recaro T/A and the 15th Anniversary...

The 15th Anniversary was also the ONLY 1984 F-Body to come with the 16" wheels and suspension... The "New WS6"
