I recently bought a 87 iroc I was told by the previous owner that it was a police interceptor and it has the badge on the rear bumper but I'm wondering if its real or please help!!

Looks like a nice '87 IROC-Z. The "Police Interceptor" badge looks like it came off of a Crown Vic.

I'm just going to come out and say that this was never a cop car, unless it was confiscated in a drug bust and pressed into service. The Ford badge is one clue, the fact that cop cars don't have T-tops is another.

I thought the t tops were a dead give away also thanks for the help I plan on getting it painted and didn't want to throw out the badge and find out it really was an interceptor. Besides the t tops I think it has every option besides leather and disc breaks

The B4C RPO on a Camaro didn't come into existence until the 1991 Model Year. Since you said it's an 87, it will not have that RPO code.

Looks like somebody just added a Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor badge to the back of the IROC.

Were any thirdgens used in police fleets or for government use before B4C? I've seen police use odd cars from time to time that aren't typically sold as police or fleet vehicles. I also once saw a DARE car that was a 91-92, but with t-tops and the high rise spoiler.
