Hi Dave, I'm new to this site but have owned a 90 Pontiac Formula since it was new. You seem like a real knowledgeable guy, so I thought it best to reach out to you for some help?

There are a lot of knowledgeable members on this site with many, in this section, knowledgeable about what is and isn't correct - if that's the help you're looking for.

I would suggest starting a new thread with the subject pertaining to the topic you're inquiring about.

What's the best way to keep the air flap open at all times?

Wire it open.
If you were to apply power to the solenoid full time, you would burn it out.

Actually, I was considering jamming it open. For now, I'm not hooking up the solenoid. How would I wire it open?

Wire, not meaning electrically.
Whatever way you can find to mechanically get the flap to stay open.
Or wedge or jam it open.

Re: Tech Article: Trans Am factory cowl induction (LG4 / L69) in 4 parts

Hello everyone, I recently purchased a complete hood air induction kit for my 82 Trans Am . Unfortunately the parts that make this system work are very difficult to find. Do you have a link to be able to buy this famous vacuum switch essential to operate the hood system? Thanks for your help. Patrick

I wouldn't even mess with all that. Get a Wide-Open Throttle switch and a relay, and wire it up like that...
