GM First-aid kits

At our farm I found a still-sealed GM Goodwrench first-aid kit. I'd say it's from the late '80s and probably came with one of the boring FWD Oldsmobiles they loved so much back then. I seem to recall opening another one up back then and seeing gauze, small scissors, band-aids and other standard first-aid items in them. No special GM-branded band-aids or anything like that.

Did any thirdgens come with these first-aid kits?

No, not from the factory. But items like this could be thrown in as a dealer premium, or purchased over-the-counter as an accessory.

Would be a nice item for display at a show. Some shows offer bonus points for having a first aid kit and fire extinguisher.

I think the Marlboro smoking 3rd genners just drove quickly to the ER, bypassing the first aid kits.

Re: GM First-aid kits

My Pontiac Accessory Kit contains a small GM first aid kit. Bit it's not an F-body original either.

Handy for cuts? Not a bad idea. Paper towel and duct tape, also helpful. Can you substitute duct tape for medical tape?

Can't speak for the others, of course, but here's what was in mine. The pink ice scraper is definitely not original.

GE work light, kevlar gloves, GM / Goodwrench logo first aid kit...

...air transfer hose with guage, orange poncho.

There should be a band aid holder on the inside of your door under the door panel. Do the automakers realize that the metal on doors is like razor blades!

Re: GM First-aid kits

Interesting. I wonder if it was once part of a larger kit, or if they were solid individually as well?
