Also, anyone have a 12mm bolt like this? I need one.

I would have been disappointed if you hadn’t touched up, and cleaned up the paint under the spoiler! You wouldn’t have been able to sleep at night.

Also, I'm sure that I have a nut like the one you need. I will look tomorrow for ya.

Thanks Darin!

I have been digging in my spare f body nuts, bolts, and screw bags and haven't come up with that 12mm nut. I have tons of 10mm and 13mm, but no 12's.....yet

Are the spoilers on coupes installed the same way- with 2 sided tape?

Nope. Only the convertibles. They have 4 studs with nuts on them, and then 2 sides tape along the rear, bottom edge. Coupes just have the studs with nuts

No problem. The rear spoilers on the convertibles are really thin and fragile compared to the coupe ones. That's the reason for the tape...it's kind of a "backup"

Thanks for looking Darin. It's actually an 11 mm. If I don't find one I'll just take one to the hardware store. The thing is, I KNOW I have at least a couple around. The silver lining is, I've found several things I thought I lost while looking for them.

No problem, Charlie. I dug through all of my stuff at work and at home, and I can't find one. And, having taken apart several of these cars....I can't think of anything else those nuts are even used on. I do have a 91 RS hatch at my brothers farm that still has the rear spoiler on it. I wonder if the hatch spoiler has the same nuts as the convertible spoiler??? If so, I will have one for ya.

I actually have something ordered that I was gonna send ya, and was just going to throw the nut in the package with the other item, lol.

Re: 7K mile, '89, IROC-Z, 'vert, stick, LB9

Last night at my favorite local cruise night. Parked behind me and to my left is my good friend's 1986, 5 speed, 3.08 geared, Mustang GT. He swung by my house so we could drive there together. We lined up our cars at a light and ran them when the light turned green. It was a dead tie. What fun! Reminded me of the '80's again!

There's room for one more?

3 Camaros to 1 Firebird.

Now that you have all the benefits of the 1st, The Next one will be even easier to justify.
Look at that wasted air space above the black Iroc........

You wont even need another castor kit. The savings are starting to add up already.

Re: 7K mile, '89, IROC-Z, 'vert, stick, LB9

Today is EXACTLY 10 years to the day that I took delivery of this car.

Anyway, the pictures I posted on the first page from the second owner have disappeared.

JT, any idea where they are. Are they cached somewhere?

Thanks!

Sorry I forgot to reply after looking. We don't cache off-site material, so we don't have it, but I checked online to see if it was cached elsewhere and it was not. As you may know, the root of the issue is 2040-cars.com is no longer available which is where the pictures were hosted from.
