Lost me completely at the 3.1L... Not that there's a lot of difference in performance between the 3.1 and L03, but the V8 has a certain potential that could be unlocked, or at least an exhaust tone that would be more enjoyable.
Pretty sure it should have the double dunked 15" wheels with the V6. F41 would have required it to be a V8 car.

you got to admit though for 6500 in todays car market its a pretty nice looking car .. now if it was a 5 speed tpi iroc i would expect it to be a good 4,000 more ...

LOL I knew you were going to say that! And yes, you are correct, BUT resale value on a V6 thirdgen is so bad, this one will sit for sale so long waiting for the right teenage girl to fall in love that it could end up looking like that Iroc convertible in the other thread. Can't even give a V6 car away.

This problem could be solved Drew if you would buy the car and perform the prescribed engine swap. Do it for the community. We can't let another car fall through the cracks...
Re: this would be a cool daily driver for the money
Nah, I'm good... I don't really have room to work on the big project I've already started. Parts are overflowing into living spaces, and the weather hasn't been cooperating with doing the body work outdoors. Need to move one or two of the other cars into storage, so I can slide the body project indoors, but I'm not sure I can afford the storage bill at the moment. So I'm kind of stuck at the moment. Assuming I ever get over the hurdle of finishing the base body work on the Firebird, and I can start reassembling, I'll be able to get parts out of the way and back in the car, and I'll have room to work again.... Might be why I'm down on project cars at the moment.
Re: this would be a cool daily driver for the money
Good looking car with a 5 speed and low miles, but the lack of options kills it for me. Looks like the only things it might have had from the factory are 16 inch wheels, and Heritage stripes (both of which are easily added). Hard pass for me, but probably a good deal for someone that doesn't care about options.
Edit: just looked it up on compnine, car had 15s from the factory. Only options are a/c, Heritage stripes, fancy headrest seats, body side molding, floor mats, and a cassette deck.

It looks like it has the Custom Grey Cloth interior, which looks to be in great shape. I thought that was an option? wouldn't the RS have the standard grey velour?

i personally love not having the extra crap, hardtops look nicer, don't leak and cause structural weakness.
my current bird has no cruise,no power hatch release, crank windows and came with a mono radio, lol.
no window motors to fail and Ive already done away with the stupid electric pull down, took the motor right
off and hard mounted the latch mechanism.hatch closes PERFECTLY without it.the less unessential junk
to fail, the better in my books.
i had an 87 iroc 5.7 with t-roofs,fully loaded and did enjoy the t-tops out a few times but its more of a novelty than anything imo.
it was a rattletrap, leaked like a sieve and was a rusted pile by the time i got it.the dmv was on strike when i picked it up for $600
so i drove it for 4-5 months (extended trip permit till the strike was over)then parted it out.

i agree the hardtops look so much nicer .. t-tops are cheesy looking .. kinda funny seeing a 50 year old guy rolling around the neighborhood with the t-tops off ..
