LOL. They call it an "investment". There is an entire generation of people who have little to no interest in even getting a drivers license. We'll see how long a mass produced domestic car is an "investment".

So true Wildcard. UBER, Lift, and the others are the "thing" for a lot of that generation.
I never bought any car as a "Investment!" Hobby....yes....Investment...no.

Its a nice looking IROC in a attractive color combo and as much as I enjoy my IROC if I have $30k to spend on a classic its not going to be on a 3rd Gen. For that kind of coin you have choices

This car has been passed around a few times. I spoke to the original owner's son who said his dad sold it to someone for 15-16K, something like that. The guy immediately flipped it at an auction for like 23K. This was about a couple years ago.

Was this car just sold in the Atlantic City Collector car auction? It sold for 20,500 before fees... Looks like it could be that one.

The only cars that are "investments" are ones that you buy, take home, and leave in your garage. What fun is that? Any car that you actually drive and enjoy, be it a Chevy or a Ferrari, loses value. (But I guess some people do enjoy just looking at their cars and not driving them.)

For a well-preserved car, there is always gong to be a market. Always. Driving isn't going away.

I think that the lack of interest in driving isn't as widespread as you think. Some of the younger generation has an interest in an urban lifestyle that doesn't involve a car. A lot of them grow up, have kids, and realize that they'd like some space and a safe open neighborhood to raise their kids. I know several couples like that: living the urban dream (in my eyes, nightmare) life, kids come along, now they realize that they want their kids to see trees and grass.
