Ok so I am going to restore the 90 Iroc-z I just bought and am trying to get some idea of how many maybe out there like mine. Knowing there were only just over 2400 Iroc-z's made in 90 but I'm thinking that is the number of L98 cars as well. I am trying to decipher weather I should remain stock with originality or build what I want. plus I want to see some nice Black Iroc-z's. My car is a 1990 L98/a4/g92/g80/ black w/ red stripes flame red deluxe interior. last six of vin is 129970 so mid to late 89 build. Having had multiple Ffody's and most of them 3rd gens 90 is by far my favorite year. i know this is debatable but I feel imo that these are the best year to have subject to argument but asides the point I am fighting with originality or that stock ls car they should've built in 90. feel free to post I'll post pics soon.

Why? There are many options that can make a certain car 1 of 1, or 1 of 6, etc. Just because it's considered low count of a black car does not mean it has any higher value over a similar white car, or red car.
I'm not trying to burst any bubbles, but I don't understand how being one of 20 black 350s built makes it special.
According to Compine they have 619 of the 1990 with the Z28, L98, G92 in black. As Scott Moyer is pointing out, you can drill down the options to make it a 1 of 1 or 1 of 2 or some similar category for nearly all cars and at that level it becomes less and less significant. It's the major equipment options that are important with some colors also having some more interest than others to some.
Well I agree but ! It’s almost 30 years since and well they aren’t making these anymore and how many are still out there in the configuration who knows. So aside from looking at it as oh I have a money car which is why people look at rarity. To me looking at I have one of but a hand full of L98’s only built a have year in 89 for 90.
Take the 64 1/2 mustang half year product and many years later those cars are all rare according to mustang enthusiasts lol and I’m not sure about that totally. But In another 20 years 3rd gens will be like 1st gen camaro’s Just shells sitting around people building clones and watching legit cars going for high money so I like being an optimist! 😂
I also just did my window sticker added all rpo codes. Didn’t pick and chose to get where I wanted to be I did all of them and that was the number I got !

What if I told you that people have been saying those exact words for 20 years on this forum? Look at the sheer numbers of low mileage cars that perpetually show up.
If leaving it alone will make you happy, do it. If hacking it up will make you happy, do it. Use your best judgement.
To say my car is rare is not something I was going for but you say I have one out of the 2400 or so that was produced that year model I’m proud of because let’s face it. To own one of the 65 or so 1LE cars made in 90 won’t happen for me unless I win the lottery and I’m not gonna get stuck wishing for a players car either . Or the one car that only came with one certain option but to say I own one of 20 built in that configuration that year outta 2400 L98 cars does me good.
To get caught up on the superiority of the super rare is not me I’m in it to keep these cars alive and well and they are getting popular more and more and even if I throw a ls in it I will keep the original drive train because who knows just like any other car that is old when the rare ones can’t be had the cars that are less rare will be more sought after. For us guys who don’t or can’t pony up for the super low mile garage queen. Keeping these car that are not as rare will pay off. Plus I just wanna see some nice cars so start posting peeps lol
just look up black 90 iroc,its easier.my 1986 t/a is one of one.it has am radio with mono speaker,air only and manual just about everything.
it isn't valuable to anyone but me and i wouldn't sell it for any less than $15,000(just because i know i wont get it,lol)it also has a 1 year only
