So, this RS has some needs. I don't have to point them out.

Why would I post this car? It sort of reminds me of a local car which was for sale last year. It was a white '89 RS convertible. I can't remember the miles, let's say around 100,000. It was a bit rough, missing it's rear spoiler, (it flew off and was never recovered), had a beat up top, and a rust spot by the driver's door handle. And it was cheap! Guy was asking $3500, I could have probably gotten for under $3K. Anyway, I never pursued it.

Several weeks later, I see the new owner blasting around in it with what I assumed was his daughter, looking like he's having the time of his life. Car was still dirty, still missing it's rear spoiler, but driver was have a great time with zero Fs given. Then I saw him again, and again. Just having fun in his convertible beater. Drive it anywhere. Park it anywhere. It's gonna rain - who cares. Just have fun.

I got my 89 vert last August so just now spending some time with it. My arm rests are like this one (ballooned).

Is there a way to fix this?

Yes, common almost universal problem on '88-'92 Camaros. Remove armrests and re-glue them. Lots of threads about it.

i like it, it's ok to just use a car for its intended purpose and just drive it and enjoy it.

If this was a 5spd I'd be all over it.

Id love to find one cheap to commute in every day preferably a 5spd. Been looking for years. Down here there are none because ZERO " F"s were ever given to these cars for the most part I guess because so many were out there at one time.

It will be interesting to see the final price. No reserve so you know it will sell.

If I wasn't afraid of undercarriage rust, (see the core support), I'd buy it as a summer beater.

The car has been removed from the auction, it states the car is no longer available

Re: Sort of a sad, cheap, '88 RS convertible.

When the car was listed, there was no reserve. I was surprised the after the listing was cancelled it states reserve not met. Even with bids a seller can end a listing by clicking "there was an error in the listing". While it still had several days to run, maybe the seller realized he should have had a reserve. If you click on the "bids" button, you can see what the bids were.
