Did anybody know there are no v6 thirdgen converts? Or am I mistaken?

Isn't it weird? No thirdgens had v6s in their convertibles. I didn't think anything of it till today.

Yeah but that wouldnt be an official GM vert.

And in 92, the RS verts had the 3.1 standard.

Actually the V6 was approved for the convertible mid year 91... Its not listed in the Camaro brochure, but the Firebird brochure from mid 91 lists it as an available option.

I've seen both a 3.1 Bird and Camaro vert in person. They exist.

That's odd. So is the 86 convert a ASC? I am curious now. I went to school with this guy and his parents gave him the camaro, They'd bought it new. I learn something new everyday

I've been looking for a nice teal '91 or '92 convert for a while, and all I seem to find are low option 6's

Must be, cause verts weren't reintoduced until '87 again.

Chevrolet gave the go ahead for a regular production convertible Camaro in 1987. Pontiac gave the go ahead around 1991, since the 1990 model year ended early, and the 91's were produced early thats why you get the 91.5's. Pontiac advertisements didn't show a convertible till 91.5. So any pre-87 Camaro vert or pre 91.5 Firebird vert would not be a factory convertible. Check the VIN numbers, if the VIN doesn't say its a convertible then it was converted by a dealership or a customer.

I believe there was a member a while back that had an 87 Sport Coupe 2.8 convertable.

Wasn't whatshisname that put the 4th gen interior into his beautiful 87 vert originally a V6? Yeah... his dash had no tach... I think his was a 2.8 too. Now where did I put his website....
